Waynesville, NC is located 30 minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, 20 minutes West of Asheville and 10 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway.  The town is at an elevation of 2800 feet in the Smoky Mountains and because of its location in the mountains, its sunny climate and its low summer humidity, it has been a popular tourist destination for many years.  The town is the site of several annual antique and craft festivals as well as country, folk and bluegrass music festivals each year.  Waynesville is easily reached by road and air.  It is close to interstate I-40 traveling East–West from the coastal Carolinas and close to the Smoky Mountains Expressway traveling North-South from Atlanta Georgia.  Airports in Atlanta and Charlotte are each about 3 hours away, Knoxville airport is less than 2 hours.  Waynesville, as well as Asheville and the surrounding area, has become a very popular retirement destination.  To visit the Town web site go here http://www.townofwaynesville.org/  to visit the site for the Downtown Waynesville Association go here http://www.downtownwaynesville.com/
